Part 8
They all slept in the next morning. Brandi was one of
the first of the group to wake up. When she got up she looked out her
window, the islander’s had already been up for hours and had done
a ton of work already. While Brandi could still feel her eyes heavy
with sleep. Nicoma woke up shortly after. “Good morning.”
Brandi said at the sight of her new friend. “Hi.” Nicoma
said picking up and apple to eat. “So how are things going with
Joey?” Brandi asked out of boredom. “They’re great.
I really like him.” Nicoma said. “That’s good to hear.”
Brandi said.
Meanwhile down the path Lance was making his way to Katy’s hut.
He knocked on the side of the hut. Katy answered it. “Justin’s
still asleep.” Katy said. “I don’t want to talk to
Justin; I want to talk to you.” Lance said. “Okay?”
Katy said confused. “Is there some place we can be alone?”
Lance asked. “Yeah, come on.” Katy said taking his hand
and leading him into the woods.
Back in Nicoma’s hut, Brandi was still listening to Nicoma talk
about Joey. Though she already knew most of the stuff she was saying
she acted interested. “You really seem to know him.” Brandi
said. “Yeah, he’s great isn’t he?” Nicoma said.
“Oh, yeah. Joey’s the best.” Brandi said sarcastically.
“We should go see who else is up.” Nicoma said. “Yeah
you’re right.” Brandi said following her out the door. The
sun was fairly high in the sky already. “If we’re going
back to those places we should go soon.” Nicoma said noting the
sky. They reached JC and them’s hut and knocked on it. Kim answered.
“Oh, come in you two.” Kim said letting them pass.
Every body was up, but JC. Who was still sleeping like a baby. “Have
you two seen Lance? We need him for the shot.” Mandy asked. “No,”
Brandi said, “But I’m sure he‘ll make it out there.
If not we‘ll go back again later.” “If we’re
going back to where we were yesterday we had better leave soon.”
Nicoma said. “Yeah, I’ll wake up JC.” Kim said heading
for their bedroom. The other’s waited out side. They heard a thud
and then the sound of JC mumbling to himself. JC walked into the main
room; he was rubbing his now sore head. “I wish you wouldn’t
to that.” JC said to Kim. “Hey, it works.” Kim said
with a smile. JC got changed and they all packed up and got ready. Chris
and Joey joined them, as they were about to leave the hut. “Come
on we’re going back to get those shots. We can‘t find Lance
but hopefully he can make it out there so we can get this done.”
Kim informed them.
Once out side they ran into a very confused Justin. “Have you
seen Katy?” Justin asked. “No.” Mandy said. “She
wasn’t there when I woke up.” Justin said trying to think
where she could be. “Lance is gone too maybe they are together.”
Mandy said. “Maybe, where are you guys going?” Justin asked.
“Back to where we were yesterday.” Brandi said. “Oh,
come with us. You can leave Katy a note.” Kim said. Justin thought
for a moment. “Okay, give me a minute.” Justin said running
back to his hut. “Tell her if she see Lance to let him know where
we’re at. We need him for the shot. Tell her to bring him out
to the field.” Mandy yelled after him. “Okay.” Justin
said.
Justin rejoined the group at the edge of the camp. Then they headed
off into the woods. It didn’t seem to take as long to get there
as it had the day before. It was a little after 1 when they reached
the tree. “Come on you two let’s make this quick, but good.”
Brandi said. Kim and JC smiled then ran over to the tree. “Now
be cute and lovey.” Mandy said. JC wrapped his arms around Kim
and hugged her while singing along to the words. Holding Kim in his
arms he remembered last summer when he and Kim had to do that shot.
That had been a good ending to a bad day.
“JC, I’m losing you.” Brandi said watching JC slip
away into his thoughts. JC shook his head. “I’m sorry, I
got side tracked.” JC said then focused on what he was doing.
He and Kim got done. It had taken a little longer than they thought
it would have. “Has any one seen Katy or Lance yet?” Chris
asked. “No, should we head back?” Joey asked. “Maybe
we should start that way.” Nicoma said. “Yeah, maybe we’ll
run into them,” Kim said. “I still can’t help but
wander where on earth they both went this morning.” Mandy said.
So they started to walk back to camp. They hadn’t got far when
they heard footsteps coming their way.
“You must really be lost your going the wrong way.” Katy
said. “Gee, you think?” Mandy said. “We were looking
for you two. Where were you this morning?” JC asked. Lance looked
helplessly at Katy. “I’m sorry it’s my fault. I asked
Lance to help me with something. I didn’t know it was going to
take as long as it did.” Katy said. “But as soon as we got
your note we headed this way.” Lance added. “What was it
you had to do?” Mandy asked. It got quite it but only for a second.
“I had to check on the cat.” Katy said with a smile. “Really,
how was it?” Justin asked. “It’s doing fine.”
Katy said.
“That’s great but let’s just do this shot, so we can
go home.” Joey said. So they turned again and made their way to
the field. JC quickly set up the camera. “Okay you two do your
thing.” JC said looked through the lens. Lance took Mandy’s
hand and they both run out into the flowers. Kim once again hit play
on the tape player. Lance and Mandy ran and jumped around out in the
field. “Okay, here’s an idea. Lance lay downing the flowers
again and Mandy lay next to him. Get a few shots that way.” Katy
suggested. Lance looked at Mandy the flopped down in the flowers Mandy
joined him JC got in close with the camera. He taped a couple minutes
of that. “Okay, that’s a wrap.” JC said.
“So now the only thing left to do is Chris and Brandi at the waterfall,
right?” Nicoma asked. “Yeah.” Joey said putting his
arm around her. Nicoma giggled then kissed him on the cheek. Katy walked
up beside Chris. “Are you ready for your shot?” Katy asked.
“Yeah, I am but I don’t think she is.” Chris said
pointing to Brandi. Brandi appeared to be very uncomfortable all of
a sudden. “Don’t worry she’s just a little worried.”
Katy said. “Yeah,” Chris sighed studying Brandi for a moment.
She was indeed lovely. Chris wanted her so bad but knew she had a boyfriend.
“So what’s the game plan?” Mandy asked. “Well
if you get back in time we can do the last shot then you can get it
ready like in the next few days.” JC said. “That sounds
great, I can’t wait to go home.” Brandi said. Lance came
up along side Mandy. He kissed her softly on her cheek. “Hi, sweetie.”
Mandy said. Mandy couldn’t help note how odd Lance was acting.
It was a few hours before sun down. So they decided to go ahead with
the last shot. They head straight for the waterfall. “I can’t
believe I’m doing this.” Brandi said once they got there.
“Your not going to kiss or anything, Just act like you like each
other. Chris laughed on the inside knowing full well that he wouldn’t
be acting. Chris took his place in the most beautiful area around the
waterfall. Kim hit play on the tape deck and Chris started to sing along.
JC couldn’t help but note that Chris eyes weren’t foxed
on the camera but on Brandi, who was standing next to JC, waiting to
go on.
“Okay, Brandi get out there. Let’s make this short and sweet.”
JC said. Brandi gave him a half smile then walked out next to Chris.
Chris started to put his arms around her. “You do and you die.”
Brandi said. “Brandi come on, it’s for the video.”
Lance said. “But?” Brandi said. “But nothing your
friends, it’s okay for friends to hug.” Katy yelled getting
very anoid. Brandi looked at her shocked. She had never seen Katy act
this way. Katy was always the sweet understanding one of the group.
“Chill Katy.” Justin said putting his arms around her. “I’m
sorry I’m having a stressful day.” Katy said resting her
head against his chest.
“Any way, please Brandi. What’s his name won’t find
out.” Mandy said. “His name is Akiko.” Brandi yelled.
“Okay, sorry.” Mandy said hiding behind Lance. “I’ll
do it but let’s make this quick.” Brandi said. Chris smiled
then closed his arms around her. Kim once again hit play. Brandi knew
she had to make the video look good. So she made the most of it and
while the song played she looked at Chris lovingly. She can’t
deny that all her feelings for him were gone. But she knew that she
just couldn’t break Akiko’s heart. Brandi let them play
the song a few times before breaking away form Chris. “Okay, we’re
done.” Brandi said.
“That’s a wrap.” JC said turning off the camera knowing
full well that they would never get Brandi to go for another minute.
They headed back to camp. The sun had already gone down long before
they got back, but luckily Katy and Nicoma knew the way. Most of the
Islanders had already eaten so the sat down pretty much by them selves
to eat that night. Meko had stayed to talk to them. “So how did
things go today?” Meko asked. “Things, went well.”
Kim said. “That is good to hear.” Meko replied. “We
are almost done; we’ll be going soon.” Mandy said. “I
don’t want you to rush off.” Meko said after all he had
enjoyed their company.
“We are not rushing.” Brandi said. “Would you please
chill out?” Chris said. Brandi gave him an evil eye. Chris looked
away in fear. “Don’t let her scared you, I’ve know
her a long time. She won’t really hurt you.” Katy said putting
a hand on Chris’s shoulder. Chris smiled at her. “We have
a lot to do in the morning and we had a late night last night. We should
turn in.” Joey said. “Yeah, we should. Let’s meet
at their hut in the morning.” Brandi said pointing to Lance, Mandy,
JC, and Kim. “Okay, let’s go honey.” Katy said taking
Justin by the hand. “Good, night Chris, good night everyone.”
Katy said leading Justin away.
They walked back to their hut. Once inside Justin started to kiss Katy.
“Baby, I’m not in the mood.” Katy said sweetly then
ran her fingers through his hair. Justin shrunk back at her words. “I’m
sorry was it something I said or did?” Justin asked. “No,
you have done nothing but be a sweet heart, I ‘m just tired, that’s
all.” Katy explained. She walked over to the bed and slipped her
nightgown on. “Let’s just cuddle or something then go to
bed.” Katy said patting the bed softly. “Okay, are you sure?”
Justin asked raising one eyebrow.
“Yes, baby, I’m sure.” Katy said. Justin studied her
for a time then joined her at the bed. “Okay.” Justin said
taking very thing off but his boxer’s then climbed into bed. Katy
got in next to him. He put his arms around her and drew her closer.
Katy looked him in the eyes and giggled. “I love you.” She
said softly. “I love you too.’ Justin said. Katy rested
her head on his chest. Justin lay there for a moment and played with
her hair. He could feel Katy’s breath against his chest. But it
soon slowed and Justin knew then that she had fallen asleep. Justin
couldn’t help but wander why she was acting like she was today.
He finally figured that it was that time of the month and it would pass.
So Justin too fell asleep.
Back out side the others were slowly making there way to their huts.
Lance Mandy, JC and Kim had all decided to go to bed at the same time
so they all made their way to the hut. Once inside Kim and Mandy went
into the rooms to get ready while Lance and JC waited on the main room.
They both sat down. “JC, tomorrow I need to talk to you.”
Lance said. “Okay.” JC said confused. Kim came back out
and sat down next to JC. “I’m ready.” She said softly.
“Okay, I’m coming. You aren’t going to knock me out
of bed in the morning, are you?’ JC asked. “Maybe.”
Kim said with a sly smile. JC eyed her, “Come on let’s go
to bed.” JC said taking Kim by the hand.
Lance waited a few minutes by himself then Mandy stuck her head out
the door and called him. Lance walked over to the door and then went
in. Mandy was already in bed. “Come on sweetie.” Mandy said
patting his side of the bed. Lance quickly got ready and joined her.
Mandy kissed him and he kissed her back. “I can’t wait till
tomorrow.” Mandy said. “Why?” Lance asked. “I
don’t know, I just can’t.” Mandy said with a smile.
Lance kissed her again then rolled over and fell asleep, Mandy wasn’t
close behind.
Next door Kim and JC were in the middle of a long French kiss. JC wrapped
his arms around Kim then pulled her over on top of him. Kim gave him
a sly smile. “Now, what do you think your doing?” Kim asked.
“I don’t know.” JC said playing dumb. “You’d
have to be a really good boy to get that.” Kim said sliding off
him. “I know I’m such a bad boy, though.” JC said
then laughed. “I know you should be spanked.” Kim said rolling
over to face a way from him. “I know that was the point.”
JC said kissing her neck. “Are you in heat all of a sudden?”
Kim asked. “Yeah, I think so.” JC said. “Good night,
JC.” Kim said trying to ignore him. “Good night, sugar.”
JC said then rolled over and fell asleep.
Mean while back out side. Everyone had gone in but Joey and Nicoma.
Who were still sitting by the fire passionately kissing. Every once
and awhile Joey would stop and Nicoma would giggle but they never really
spoke. This went on for some time. “Joey, it’s really getting
late.” Nicoma said finally. “So?” Joey said kissing
her shoulder. “We really need to go in and go to bed.” Nicoma
said. “Why?” Joey asked stopping. Their talking was interrupted
by and noise. “Joey, I’m scared. You do know that there
are wild animals out here.” Nicoma said. “Yeah, me.”
Joey said jokingly. “No, I mean real wild animals. Please Joey
walk me to my hut.” Nicoma begged.
“Okay, I’ll walk you to your hut.” Joey said getting
up then he pulled Nicoma up off the ground too. “Thanks, Joey.
Let’s go.” Nicoma said. Joey could tell she really was scared
so he put his arm around her and walk her to her hut. He waited there
till she had gotten in to bed, then kissed her good night before leaving.
Joey hurried to his hut and climbed in bed trying not to wake Chris
or Meko. He lay there and thought about Nicoma a little bit before falling
fast asleep.
