Kidnapped 2
By Neko
Part 1
A young lady made her way into a small bar. She looked
around then ran her hand through her brown hair. She spotted a young
man sitting at a table in the corner and walked over to him. “Hello,
Ryan.” She said. The young blond looked up at her. “Hi,
Alishé.” He said offering her a seat. “What can I
do for you today?” He asked. “Well I have some debts to
pay off. I’ve entrusted you with a great deal of money and you
invested it for me. I need about 200,000. In U.S dollars.” She
said crossing her arms. “Why so much?” He asked. “That’s
for me to know.” Alishé said. “You’re quite
a mystery.” Ryan said. “I know but I pay you well, so you
should not be so worried about my doings.” She said. “How
true.” When do you need it by?” He said.
“I’d like to have it as soon as you can get it to me.”
She said. “It’ll have to be tomorrow.” He said. “Sounds
good let me go make a phone call.” She said getting up and making
her way over to a pay phone. She put her money in and called. “Hello?”
Some one said on the other end. “Hello, is Mike there?”
She asked. “Yeah this is him.” He said. “Mike its
Brandi.” She said. “Brandi it’s been awhile since
I’ve herd from you.” He said.
“I know and I’m sorry, but I’ve got the money, when
can I give it back?” She asked. “Didn’t you hear?”
He asked. “What are you talking about?” She asked. “The
NSYNC guys already gave them the money.” He said. The phone went
silent. “Brandi?” Mike said. “What?” Brandi
said. “I figured you and him must have really hit it off.”
Mike said. “Yeah well we had something going on.” Brandi
said looking at her feet. She’d almost forgot about them, namely
Chris. It’d been so long.
“Well thanks, Mike but I have to go.” Brandi said then hung
up. She went back over to where Ryan was sitting. “How did it
go?” He asked. “Good, but I won’t need the money after
all.” She said. “Okay, Alishé, I have to go now.
I’ll talk to you later.” He said and stud up. They shook
hands then parted.
As she went into her house she saw a letter lying on the table. She
picked it up and looked at it. I was sent all the way from Great Britain.
She opened it and read it:
Dear Brandi,
Hi. It’s been awhile since I’ve heard from you. I’m
having a great time over here. I went to see Kim the other day. She
was doing fine. Do you think it’s safe to go back yet? I miss
my family. And I miss Lance. You speak very little of Chris. Have you
forgotten about him? I wouldn’t think it was true. When I heard
the news you gave me in your last letter I was shocked.
I didn’t know where Katy had gone. But if that’s where she
feels safest then I’m happy for her. I just can’t imagine
living like that. Oh well I really can’t talk long but please
write back soon.
Sincerely,
Mandy
Brandi folded the letter back up and placed it on the
table again. She took out another piece of paper and started to write
a reply. She wrote quickly then jumped back in her jeep and drove into
town to mail it. Brandi loved it here and she couldn’t even think
of leaving. But since her first trip into town she’s started thinking
about Chris. It’d been just a little over a year since that summer.
Chris had had a girlfriend and Brandi now wondered if he was still with
her.
Brandi dropped the letter in the mailbox. She looked around then climbed
back into her jeep and drove off.
**A few days later in Great Britain**
A girl walked a cross the street and in to the post office. “Good
Morning Madeline.” The lady behind the counter said. “Good
morning, this there anything for me?” She asked. “Yes you
have a letter from Australia.” The lady said handing it to her.
“Thanks.” Madeline said then headed back across the street
to her apartment. She opened the door and stepped in quickly. Her apartment
was a lot like her room was back at the house. The walls were white
with back trim and she had black and white furniture.
She quickly opened the letter and read it:
Dear Mandy,
I know it’s been awhile. And I’m sorry. I have kind of good
news. The other day I was going to pay back the money we took but when
I called Mike he told me that NSYNC already had. I don’t know
if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. But I think if you want
it’d be safe to go back now.
I don’t know yet if I’m going back. I do miss Chris but
he did have a girlfriend and I don’t know if they’re still
together. I’d hate to hope for something that can’t happen.
But I do miss him greatly but my life has changed so much since that
summer. I just don’t know. I’m glad to hear Kim is well.
I hope you can make the right chose as for what you plan to do. Bye!
Sincerely.
Alishé
Mandy set the letter on the counter and walked over to
her couch and then sat down. She was watching TV when there was a knock
at the door. She walked over to it and peered through the peephole.
There was a man standing there he was wearing a hat and some black shades.
There were two more men around him; they too were wearing hats and shades.
The man knocked again. “Maybe she’s not home?” One
of the men said.
“No she’s here.” The first man said.
As he spoke Mandy found his voice very familiar, it was deep and sexy.
She studied him a bit longer, and then it dawned on her who he was.
She flung the door open and wrapped her arms around him before he had
a chance to speak. She hugged him and he hugged her back. But they said
nothing. Soon she felt him pull her back into the apartment. One of
the other men shut the door. Mandy finally let go and stepped back to
get a better look. Lance smiled and then removed the hat and shades.
The other two took the shades off then stud there watching the two of
them. Mandy knew who they were too.
“You came back.” Mandy said. “Yeah, Madeline, I did
but why didn’t you come to see me or write me?” Lance asked.
Mandy laughed it was odd to hear him call her that. “I didn’t
know how to get a hold of you and I didn’t know if it was safe
for me to come back yet.” Mandy explained. Lance looked at her
he figured she was telling him the truth.
“Do you have anything to eat?” Joey asked. JC smacked him;
“We just ate.” JC said. “But I’m hungry.”
Joey said rubbing his head. “Yeah help yourself.” Mandy
said pointing to the kitchen. Joey ran over and started looking to see
what she had.
Lance looked at Joey then back to Mandy. “What brings you guys
to Great Britain?” Mandy asked. “Well Mandy, you see NSYNC
not doing to hot anymore. The video you guys made was a big hit and
we tried to do something like it but it was a flop. We need your guys
help.” JC explained. “But we couldn’t find you guys
for the longest time, until Lance found out where you were. So we figured
if we found you, you’d know where the others were.” Joey
said eating a sandwich.
“You do know where the others are right?” Lance asked. “Yeah
all but Katy.” Mandy said. “Didn’t you keep in touch
with her?” JC asked. “Yeah but getting a hold of her is
hard I have no clue where she’s at exactly. But she’s in
Brazil some where.” Mandy said. “Justin will be disappointed
if he doesn’t get to see her after all this time.” Joey
said still eating. “Where are Justin and Chris?” Mandy asked.
“They’re still in the U.S. Justin was doing a movie and
Chris was working with FuMan Skeeto, but we’re supposed to get
in touch with them in a few days them their gong to join us.”
Lance said.
“We might have a problem.” Mandy said. “What?”
JC asked. “Some of the others… well they tried to move on
with their lives and they did to a point. The others may not be as happy
to see you as I was.” Mandy explained. “We understand, it’s
been awhile and I’m sure it made it easier for them to forget.
But we still need your help and I think it won’t be the same with
out all of you.” JC said. Mandy agreed. “I just didn’t
want any one to be upset.” Mandy said.
“That’s fair.” Joey said. “Can we stay here
for the night?” Lance asked. “Sure.” Mandy said, “The
couch folds into a bed if you want it.” She added. “That’s
great. This why we can leave in the morning to get the others.”
JC said. “So soon?” Mandy asked. “Yeah it’s
going to take awhile to get every thing done, so we have to start soon.”
Joey said.
“Okay, it’s getting late we should turn in then.”
Lance said. “I get the couch.” JC said running over to it.
Joey glared at him but then shook his head it wasn’t worth fighting
for. Lance turned to Mandy and placed his hand in hers and rubbed it
slowly. “Can I sleep in your bed?” He asked. Mandy stopped
to think. It’s been a year but she felt they were still as close
as they had been the day she left. “Yeah, but you have to behave.”
Mandy said. Lance smiled then followed her into her room. While Lance
was getting ready Mandy brought pillows and blankets for Joey and JC,
and then she helped JC unfold the bed. Joey made himself a bed on the
floor and was asleep before JC and Mandy were done with his bed. “Good
night.” JC said. “Good night.” She said disappearing
into her room.
Once inside, Lance was already in bed and was reading a book. Mandy
ran over and hopped in beside him. He set his book down then laid down
and the two of them turned to face each other. Lance put his hand and
Mandy’s arm. Her skin was as soft as he remembered it to be. Lance
wrapped his arms around her and drew her close. She rested her head
against his chest and then fell a sleep.
