Spring break was about two weeks away and MTV was getting ready to gear up for it. They were going to be giving away a dream date with Lance Bass from Nsync. The only thing you had to do - was tell them why is would mean so much to you and for one fans it ends up meaning more that even she thought. Dream Date with LanceMelissa was watching TRL one day. Carson came on and was talking about Nsync, which really got her attention. Spring break was about two weeks away and MTV was getting ready to gear up for it. Carson announced that most of the guys from Nsync were too busy to take part in the spring break festivities. But Lance would be there and to help support Freelance Entertainment, Lance would be going on a dream date with one lucky fan. Carson also went on the say that if you were interested in going on the dream date you had to send in a letter saying why it would mean so much to you. Melissa could think of a hundred reason why it would mean so much to her. So she quickly but carefully wrote a very meaningful letter to MTV. A few weeks later she got a letter from Carson. In the latter he said they were so moved by her letter the picked her to be the winner of the dream date with Lance. At first Melissa didn’t think she had read it right. When she realized she had she quickly started packing even though it was still weeks away. MTV paid for her airline ticket and everything, so not only was she getting a date with Lance but she was also getting too so to Cancun for a weekend. What more could she have wished for? Soon the time came; Melissa could feel the butterflies in her stomach even before the plane took off. When the plane landed in Cancun, Carson and a MTV crew meet her at the airport. They explained to her what was going on. “We got you a hotel room, there’s a limo waiting to take you there. Tomorrow you will meet with a hair stylist and get some new clothes. Later that evening Lance will pick you up at your hotel room. The MTV camera crew will follow you on your date, which will later be aired on MTV.” Carson said quickly. Melissa smiled and hugged him. “Thank you so much I can’t tell you how happy this makes me.” Melissa said. Carson just smiled back. It was already late in the evening when she reached the hotel room. But Melissa couldn’t sleep. She kept thinking about Lance and what would happen tomorrow. Finally around midnight she fell asleep. About 10:00 a.m the next day there was a knock at the door. It was the stylist. Melissa let her in and they talked about what she wanted. At the same time a man can in with a ton of clothes. Melissa quickly picked out the one she liked best and then changed. The stylist worked with Melissa’s hair for over an hour, but Melissa wanted it to be prefect for Lance. The date was simple Lance was going to pick her up at the hotel room and the take her out to eat. And of course the MTV cameras would be there every step of the way. That made her uneasy but it was all worth it to go on a date with Lance. Soon Melissa was informed that Lance was on his way. Lance too had cameras following him. On his way up he playfully joked around with the camera guy. He got to Melissa’s door he gave the camera a cheesy smile and held up the flowers that MTV had given him. He was all up for this it was going to be fun. And best off all MTV was paying for everything. Lance knocked and then smiled when Melissa came to the door. She almost fell down when she saw Lance. His eyes were so green in person. “Are you ready?” Lance asked handing her the flowers. “I think so.” Melissa said half blushing. She took the flowers from him. Lance turns and offers her his arm. She quickly takes in and Lance leads the to the limo, which take them to a privet dinner in a cabin by the sea. Everything was going great. Melissa stated wish the cameras would leave, because Lance seemed to be distracted by them. Trough out the dinner he kept turning and making comments to the camera. But he still did show an interest in her. She caught him checking her and a couple of times when the camera turned away from him. Dinner went nicely and then they went back to the hotel where each of them had to go in a room by themselves and talk about the date. Once that was done the MTV people left and so did lance. Melissa was still very happy to have even gotten to go on the date. She was lying across her bed playing with her hair when there was a knock at the door. She heard a laugh and then Lance say. “It’s Lance can I come in?” She shook her heard in disbelief then ran to the door to see if it was him. As she peeked through the small hole Lance stood out with a hat on. She quickly opened the door. “What are you doing here?” She asked. Lance darted in and shut the door quickly. “The stupid MTV people are all over the place.” Lance said taking his hat off. “I know, but what on earth are you doing?” She asked again. “I’m sorry, I thought you might like to talk, I tend to get carried away when cameras are around. That whole date thing had to be a rip off.” Lance explained. “I don’t know I had fun, I mean yeah the cameras were bothering me but, I got to go on a date with you.” Melissa said. “That’s cool, you want to go do something?” Lance asked. “Now?” She asked. “Yeah.” Lance said. “Won’t those stupid MTV people see us, I don’t think that would look good for you.” She said. “Come on we’ll sneak out.” Lance said grabbing her hand and dragging her into the hall. They snuck down the hall and made it safely out side. “Okay, now what?” She asked once they were out side. “I don’t know, this is fun.” Lance said with a stupid smile on his face. Melissa just shook her head. Lance looked at her. “You’re too, young to drink; how about we just walk and talk.” Lance said. “Sounds great.” Melissa said then started to walk she was some what surprised when Lance locked arms with her a directed her to the beach. They started walking and talk about every little thing. Lance was such a sweetie. They were having a grEat time when the heard some one yell. “Hey, It’s Lance Bass.” They both turned and saw the MTV camera guy making his way for the with his camera ready. “What now?” Melissa asked a little upset. “Run.” Lance yelled and then took off. Melissa ran to catch him. When she got close enough he grabbed her hand so he wouldn’t lose her and the two of the darted around several corners until the no longer heard the man behind them. “Do you do this often?” She asked. “What, run around with pretty girls?” Lance asked. Melissa was flattered. “You think I’m pretty?” She asked. “Yeah, and no I don’t do this as much as you would think.” Lance said. They stopped at a small shop beside the beach for ice cream and then continued their walk. They made small jokes. “Not again.” Lance said noting the MTV set up. This time though Lance had seen them before they had seen him so the two of the calmly turned and started to go another way before they heard them call out Lance’s name. Once they got away again, Lance looked at his watch. “I better take you back to your room.” Lance said. “I can get there my self you can go on to bed.” Melissa said. “Come on you think I’m going to let you walk back alone, its spring break. You’d never make it. To many horny guys out here.” Lance explained. “And you’re going to protect me?” She asked. “Yeah.” Lance said feeling confidant. Melissa locked arms with him again and the two of them started to walk back. “I guess we’ll be fine, unless we run into some teenies.” Melissa said. “Very funny.” Lance replied. Melissa just smiled. When they got to her room Lance stopped out side. “You better go, I’m sure you have a busy day tomorrow.” She said. “Yeah, I do. But before I go can I get you number?” He asked sweetly. “Will you call me?” She asked crossing her arms. “I’ll try to.” Lance said. They both turned as the heard voices coming. She quickly wrote her number down and handed it to him. “Bye.” He said softly and then disappeared. The next day as Melissa was getting ready to leave she heard some of the MTV crew talking. The producer seemed upset that they hadn’t seen who Lance had been with or got any of it on tape. Melissa smiled and walked past them. Weeks later it was still all her friends could talk about. Melissa was in her room re-telling the story for the 50th time when the phone rang. “Melissa, it’s for you.” Her mom yelled up the steps. “Who is it?” She asked. “Lance.” Her mom said. Melissa smiled, she had almost forgotten she’d given him her number. She took off down the steps and answered the phone. “Hello?” She said. “Hey, didn’t think I call did you?” Lance said. “Well no, but I’m really glad you did.”
