Maybe entering a radio contest isn't such a bad idea. For one lucky girl it ends up be more than worth it as she lands a dream date with Nsync's Chris Kirkpatrick. Dream Date with ChrisLauren was driving down the road a man came on the radio. Lauren thought she had heard him wrong. But then he repeated what he had said. “You could win a dream date with Chris Kirkpatrick form Nsync.” He said. The whole idea exited her. Chris was her idol and to get to go on a date with him would be a dream come true. “You should call in you might win.” Her friend said. “Oh, please. I could be that lucky.” Lauren said. “You never know, some one has to win, why not you.” Her friend said. Handing her the cell phone. “I’ll call once, and then will you leave me alone?” Lauren asked. Her friend nodded. Lauren dialed the number. It rang a few times and then some one picked up. “Hello who is this?” The man asked. “Lauren.” She said she could hear her voice echoing through the car radio. “Well Lauren I’m sorry.” He said. Lauren looked at her friend. Who just looked down. The man paused for a few seconds and then finished. “It seems you’ll have to go out and get a new dress, because you’re going on a date with Chris.” He said. Lauren was shocked. Her friend looked up and smiled at her. “Oh my god are you kidding?’ She asked in disbelief. “No your really going, how does it feel?” He asked. “It feels great.” Lauren said trying to keep the car on the road. “Well stay on the line and we’ll tell you everything you need to know. I hope you have a great time.” He said. “Oh, don’t worry I will.” Lauren said. Once she got everything she needed on paper she hung up and looked at her friend. “See, aren’t you glad I made you call?” She asked. “I’m so glad, thank you so much. This is the greatest day of my life.” Lauren said. “Now what are you going to wear?” Her friend asked. “Oh my god, I have no clue.” Lauren said. “It’s okay we’ll go shopping.” Her friend smiled. Shopping was the second thing she loved. Chris was the first. After spending 3 hours at the mall trying to find the perfect dress, they went back to Lauren’s. The date wasn’t until tomorrow night but Lauren already had butterflies in the stomach. “You’re going to be fine.” Her friend said. “No I’m not. What are we going to talk about?” She asked pacing the room. “Anything.” Her friend said. “I don’t want him to think I’m boring.” Lauren wined. “He won’t your a great person. He’ll like you.” She said trying to claim her down. Lauren looked at her friend. She hugged her. “You’re the best friend I’ve ever had.” Lauren said. “I know, but that’s what friends are for. Now it’s late you batter go to sleep. I’ll come over about noon and help you get ready.” She said. “Is that going to give us enough time?” Lauren asked. “Lauren, he’s picking you up at 6.” She said. “Right.” Lauren said. After her friend left Lauren went a laid down. She spent most of the night having nightmares about her date tomorrow. She had a feeling something was going to go wrong. Her friend came back at noon like she said she would. She found Lauren sitting on the couch drinking hot coco. “Something is going to go wrong.” Lauren said. “No, everything is going to go fine. Besides you’re going with Chris. He’s really funny; he’ll help you cope through anything.” She said. “He is really funny isn’t he?” Lauren said cracking a smile. “Come on let’s get you ready.” She said. Lauren got up and went to go change. She came back out in her new dress. “These shoes don’t match; we should have bought shoes yesterday.” Lauren wined. “No they look great with that dress.” Her friend said. “Are you sure?” Lauren asked. “Yes, now come on, you’ve wasted 3 hours already.” Her friend said. “Okay, you’re right. Lets’ do my hair.” Lauren said. They sent a long time arguing over what to do with her hair. They finally decided to put her long brown hair up in a modern yet teen do. Her hair stuck out in a couple places. These pieces had a touch of dark blue in the to help accent the dress. “Do you think he’ll like it?” Lauren asked. “Hello? Have you seen his hair lately?” She asked. Lauren laughed. They did her make-up. “Are you ready?” Her friend asked. “I think so, do I look ready?” Lauren asked. “You’ll knock him dead girl.” She said. Just then the doorbell rang. “That’s him.” Lauren yelled. “Answer it.” Her friend said. Lauren walked over to the door while her friend left out the back. She brushed her dress down and fixed her hair before opening the door. She smiled as she looked at Chris. Chris lowered his yellow tinted sunglasses and looked her up and down. “Lauren?” He asked. “Yeah.” Lauren said. “Hi, these are for you.” He said handing her some flowers. He turned and offered her his arm. She smiled and then took it. He walked her down to the limo and then the driver opened the door for them. She got in first and Chris was close behind her. “I’ve never been in a limo before.” Lauren said. “Really?” Chris asked. The car got quiet. Chris fidgeted with his dress shirt. Lauren didn’t feel nervous any more. “So where are we going?” Lauren asked. “Some fancy restaurant.” Chris said. “Cool. You’re awfully quiet.” She said. “Yeah, I don’t know why. I mean you can ask the others I normally talk all the time.” Chris said. “Is this what you expected?” She asked. “Well No, but I didn’t know what to expect. I’m just glad they didn’t hook me up with a 6-year-old.” Chris said. They both laughed. “So you’re not disappointed?” She asked. “No, I mean you your pretty. I like your hair.” Chris said quickly as if to cover up the first half of the statement. Lauren smiled. Chris blushed and little and looked down. “I like your shoes too.” He said. Lauren couldn’t help but laugh. They finally got to the restaurant. They went in the back way and were seated quickly. “So what’s good to eat here?” Lauren asked. Chris suggested a few things to her and she picked on and ordered it. Chris got the same. “So you really called into the radio station to win a date with me?” He asked. “Yeah.” Lauren said. “Why?” Chris asked. “Why? Why not?” Lauren asked. “I’m an old fart.” Chris said. “Yes, but your a cute old fart.” Lauren said. Chris laughed. “What else do you like about me?” Chris asked. “You’re talented, funny, and rich. What more does a girl want?” Lauren asked. “So tell me about yourself.” Chris said. “You don’t want to know about me. I’m boring.” Lauren said. “I find you very interesting.” Chris said. They spent the rest of the night talking about hope, dreams, and family. Once they had eaten they headed back to the limo. “So is the date over?” She asked. “Do you want it to be?” Chris asked. “Not really.” Lauren said. “Then it’s not.” Chris said. “So where are we going?” Lauren said. “ I have no clue.” Chris said. “I know this great place. I go there a lot and look at the stars.” Lauren said. “Let’s go there. I s it far?” Chris asked. “Not really.” Lauren said. “Then we’ll walk.” Chris said. “What if some one sees you?” Lauren asked. “It’s dark out and it’s late, who would be out besides us?” Chris asked. “All right I guess.” Lauren said. Chris told the driver and then they walked off down the street. They went into the park. There was this place not many knew about, it was up on a hill, kind of out of the way. There was a huge rock. Chris helped her climb up on it and then the two of them sat there and looked up. Lauren pointed out a few of her favorite stars. She didn’t know the names of them but she had always liked them. “Why are those your favorite?” Chris asked. “Their the brightest and prettiest.” She said. Chris looked over at her. In the moonlight she appeared to be a goddess. Lauren looked at him and saw him looking at her. “What?” She asked. “Those stars,” Chris said pointing to them, “are nothing compared to you.” Lauren blushed. “That has to be the sweetest thing any one has ever said to me.” She said. The next thing Lauren knew Chris kissed her. It was a sweet kiss, one of those that doesn’t last long but means so much. When he pulled away he wrapped his arm around her and pulled her close. She rested her head against him. He smiled and then started singing ‘this I promise you‘. Lauren felt her heart melt. They stayed that way for a while and then Chris looked at his watch. “I better go. I’ll call you.” Chris said. “Okay.” Lauren said. “Do you want me to take you home?” Chris asked. “No I think I’ll walk.” She said. He smiled and then left. The next day her friend came over to see how thing went. “So?” She asked. “It went well.” Lauren said. “It went real well.” She repeated softly so her friend couldn’t hear her
