Part 4
It was around 5 in the morning and Joey had been trying
for hours and had finally managed to loosen up the ropes that held him
to the chair. He finally freed his hands and got up. The room was dark
and he could barely see. “Guys.” He said softly. “What?”
Lance replied. “I’m free, I’m going to untie you.”
Joey said making his way to Lance. by now all the guys were fully awake
a aware of what was going on. Joey untied Lance but as he backed up
to give Lance some room he backed into a stack of crates and knocked
them over. “Joey?’ Lance wined. “Maybe no one heard
it.” Joey said. Just then the lights came on. “Or maybe
not.” Joey said. With in seconds Antonio and Reno were in the
room. Joey took off around the room and Antonio took off after him.
Lance tripped on the ropes and before he knew it Reno grabbed him and
pulled him to his feet. Lance tried to get away but Reno put him in
some kind of wrestling move, pined his arms behind his head. “Run
Joey.” Lance yelled. “Shut up.” Reno yelled kneeing
him in the back. Lance groaned.
Joey ran around jumping over boxes and knocking stuff over. Trying to
buy himself some time to get to the door. But Antonio was persistent.
He finally cornered Joey so that the was only a crate between them.
Joey waited and just as Antonio went around the crate one way Joey went
the other way. Joey ran for the door but before he got there Antonio
tackled him to the ground. The two of the rolled around on the ground
punching and hitting each other for a few minutes before Joey ended
up on top. He pined Antonio to the ground. Joey couldn’t help
but notice how quite it was. He was about to say something when he felt
something cold pressed against the side of his head.
He looked over just enough to see the gun. He slowly raised his hands
above his head as if to surrender. “Get up.” Lexi snapped.
Joey go up never once letting Lexi or the gun leave his sight. Antonio
got up too dusted himself off the before any one could stop him he punched
Joey in the stomach. Joey fell back down holding his stomach in pain.
“Take that.” Antonio yelled. Lexi rolled her eyes. “Now
get back up.” Lexi snapped keeping the gun on him. Joey got up
the best he could while still holding his stomach. Joey looked up just
for a minute and saw Nina standing in the door way with her hand over
her mouth watching in disbelief. “Sit back down.” Lexi snapped
turning his attention back to her.
Joey didn’t say anything he just went over and sat down. Lexi
kept the gun pointed at Joey while Antonio tied him back up. Once Joey
was secure Lexi turned to Lance. “Do you mind this is very uncomfortable.”
Lance said wiggling as Reno still held him in the choke hold. Reno let
go of him and with out hesitation Lance sat down and let Reno tie him
back up. Lexi stuck the gun in her pocket and turned and walked out
the door. Nina hesitated only a second then followed her. The guys heard
Nina yell “You never said anything about a gun.” Then the
door slammed shut and the yelling became muffled through the closed
door.
For a few minutes none of the guys said anything, they just sat alone
in the room. The fear was setting in, Lexi was now becoming dangerous.
Each guy was alone in his own thoughts. A single tear ran down Justin’s
cheek as he thought back to the night he had been kidnapped. He could
recall everything about that night. He watched Katy leave with her friends
and then he and Elena went in to watch the basket ball game. He remembered
getting mad because Elena got fussy and made him miss parts of the game.
He remembered getting up to get her bottle so she would go to sleep,
so then maybe he could have some free time to himself.
Then Justin remembered dropping the bottle on the kitchen floor when
some one grabbed him from behind. He recalls fighting with that person
for what seemed like 15 minutes, then a second tear escaped as he recalled
the last thing he said before they gagged him. “Please don’t
hurt my baby.” He remembers being so mad at her until he was laying
bound and gagged on the floor, then he just wanted to go in there and
pick her up, hold her and tell her everything was going to be okay.
Now he just wanted to see her again, even if she was fussy, he wanted
to hold her, to be with her just like he had told Katy he wanted the
day she was born.
Justin looked up as if coming out of a dream. He looked around him,
the others were deep in thought too. Being kidnapped this time was way
different that the first time. Now they each had so much to lose, wives,
babies, girlfriends, special people in their lives that would be hurt.
JC finally gave in and let his tears escape. He couldn’t help
but think how stupid he had been for not asking Kim to marry him. JC
had been envious of Lance and Justin, Lance with his wife and Justin
with his new baby. That’s what JC wanted a wife and a baby but
more importantly he wanted Kim to help him get those things. JC looked
down at his shoe and promise himself if he made it thought this he would
get those things for himself and he wouldn’t chicken out this
time.
Joey was still sore from this fight with the buff black guy. But there
was something else that hurt just a little more that the black eye he
was going to have. It was a guilt feeling in the bottom of his heart.
He hadn’t let Nicoma know it but he was mad when she left that
night. He was mad that she wanted to be with her friends instead of
him. But now he realized just how many time he had blown her off to
go do things he wanted to do, and she had always been so nice about
it. Joey could have kicked himself right then if he could have managed
it. He had been so stupid.
Chris was feeling a little guilty too, he remembered what Brandi had
told him about her time being valuable too. He had realized that night
after she left what she had meant by that. Chris couldn’t even
count the number of times he had shooed her ways because he was working
on something. He was always busy and that’s why he wanted to be
with her while on break, but he didn’t think she would be busy
too sometimes. Chris looked around at the others they were all slowly
come out of the shock. Lance still seemed to be lost somewhere in the
back of his mind.
Finally Joey spoke up. “Chris I have to tell you something.”
Joey said. Chris looked up over at him. “What is it?” Chris
asked. “There is something that is bothering me, it has been for
some time. It’s about Brandi.” Joey said then took a deep
breathe. “What about Brandi?” Chris asked sounding a little
worried. “I don’t know what’s going to happen with
us, but I wouldn’t be able to rest easy if anything happened to
me or you before I got a chance to tell you this.” Joey explained.
“Don’t talk like that Joey, were going to make it out of
this okay.” Chris said. “Still I want you to know. 2 years
ago when the girls kidnapped us the first time something happened between
Brandi and I” Joey said.
Chris was quite. “The night JC stormed out, Brandi and I had gone
down to play games after you had gone to bed. We were just having a
great time but then I kissed her and she kissed me back. But that was
it nothing else happened and to this day we rarely talk about it.”
Joey explained. “You kissed Brandi?” Chris asked in disbelief.
Joey just shook his head. “And you waited 2 years to tell me?”
Chris asked. “Chris I am sorry. We’re just friends now,
there’s nothing to worry about.” Joey added. “I guess
I can’t get that mad, I mean I was cheating on my girlfriend at
the time.” Chris said. With that the conversation moved on.
“Do you think the girls are going to pull this off?” Lance
asked. “I don’t know, I mean I love the girls, but I don’t
know how they will function with out Katy.” Justin said. “She
is kind of the back bone of the groups isn’t she?” JC said
recalling the first time they had kidnapped them and even into the second.
Katy had been the one to pull it all together. “There going to
have to do it with out her, they should be fine, I think they have learned
a lot from her.” Chris explained. “We are going to be fine,
I mean listen to us, we’re giving up.” Lance said. “We
should try to sleep or something, I mean there isn’t anything
we can do until we hear from the girls.” Joey said.
**Mean While**
“Come on you guys we almost have enough.” Brandi said looking
at the mass of cash they had. Nicoma bit her lip then got up and ran
into her and Joey’s bed room. She came back with a shoe box and
handed it to Brandi. “Here Joey and I had been saving up so we
could have a nice wedding and honey moon. There should be enough there
to make 5 million.” Nicoma said almost in tears. “Are you
sure you want to use that money?” Brandi asked. “Yes, you
can’t have a wedding with out a groom.” Nicoma said finally
losing it. Mandy came up to her and comforted her. “I miss Joey.”
Nicoma said between sobs.
“We miss them all, but we’re going to get them back.”
Kim said. “And we’re going to do it right now.” Brandi
said dialing the phone. The phone rang a few times and then Lexi picked
up. “We have your money now what?” Brandi asked. “Great
I’ll tell you where to drop it once I have the money I’ll
call you and tell you were you can find the guys.” Lexi said.
“Okay.” Brandi said. “I want to talk to JC.”
Kim said grabbing the phone away from Brandi. “I’m not paying
until I know JC is still alive.” Kim snapped. The other watched
in awe, they had never seen this side of Kim before. “Fine.”
Lexi huffed. She put the phone up to JC ear. “You have one minute.”
Lexi said. “Kim?” JC asked. “JC are you okay?”
Kim asked. “I’m fine, it’s good to hear your voice.”
JC said sweetly. “Yours too, put her back on, we’re going
to get you guys out of this very soon.” Kim replied. “Okay.”
JC said.
“Lexi took the phone back and Kim put Brandi back on. Brandi wrote
down what they were going to do, then hung up. “Come on let’s
go get our boys.” Brandi said and was out the door with the other
close behind. They drove a few miles and then stopped at a cafe and
waited. They ordered lunch and had just gotten their food when a black
man approached their table. He sat down with out asking. “You
got it or what?” Antonio asked lowering his shades slightly. “Yeah,
we got it.” Brandi said pointing to the bag next to her. Antonio
looked over at Mandy and smiled. “Hey sugar, what say you lose
your hubby and hook up with me?” Antonio asked. “Not for
a million bucks.” Mandy said giving him a look of rejection. “Suit
yourself, you ladies have a nice day.” Antonio said then started
to get up and walk away with the bag. ‘What about the guys?”
Nicoma asked grabbing his shirt. “Hey, easy on the clothes girl.
You’ll get a phone call as soon as I get this back to the boss
lady.” Antonio said brushing her hand off.
“What a loser.” Mandy said once he was gone. “Well
that loser had better get me my man back.” Kim huffed. They finished
their food and waited there in the cafe. Finally the phone rang. “Good,
work ladies.” Lexi said. “Yeah, now what about the guys.”
Brandi asked. Lexi proceeded to tell them where to find the guys. Brandi
wrote it all down on a napkin. then hung up the phone. She looked up
at the others. Now should we call the cops and have then come with us
or go by our selves?” Nicoma asked. “There’s no telling
what we are going to find.” Mandy said. “ I think as much
as we have grown to hate the cops we should call them, that way they
know Katy wasn’t in on this kidnapping.” Kim suggested.
“Are you kidding they would find some way to tie her into it.”
Nicoma added.
They decided to call the cops, but the cops once again seemed less than
interested. So when they showed up at the run down factory they weren’t
surprised to find there were no cop cars around. They went in and unlocked
the door just like Lexi had told them to. Once the door opened they
were all to scared to enter, afraid of what they might find. The they
heard Justin’s voice. “Hello?” He asked wandering
why the door a opened but one had entered.
They smiled and looked at each other then rushed in. Mandy quickly untied
Lance and gave him a hug. “I was so scared.” Mandy said.
“Me too.” Lance added, he didn’t want to let go of
her. Mandy looked down at Justin who was still tied up. “Lance,
I have to help Justin.” Mandy said trying to pull away from him.
Lance didn’t want to but he let go. Mandy untied Justin. “Thanks.”
Justin said brushing himself off. “Don’t mention it.”
Justin looked around all the guy were hugging and kissing their women.
He felt kind of out of place. But he knew his girlfriend had a good
reason for not being there this time.
“Joey I’m so sorry but I had to use the money we had been
saving to get you back.” Nicoma said. Joey kind of looked away
for a minute. “That’s okay,” he said giving her a
hug. “We don’t need a big wedding any way.” He added.
Nicoma smiled. “Let’s go home you guys.” Chris said
with his arm around Brandi.
As they were walking to the car they heard sires coming their way. Then
3 cop cars pulled up beside them. “Great timing.” Kim huffed.
They watched as Officer Monroe got out, but they some one unexpected
got out. “Katy.” Mandy said running for her friend followed
closely by the other girls. After they all gave her a hug, Justin walked
over. “Don’t I get a hug?” he asked. “You get
more than that.” Katy said giving him a hug and then kissing him.
“How did you get out?” Kim asked. “It’s the
funniest thing.” Katy said. “A young lady by the name of
Nina Codwell confessed to the whole thing, including setting up your
girlfriend.” One officer interrupted. “Oh, my god where’s
the baby?” Justin said becoming suddenly worried. “Don’t
worry she’s at your mom’s.” Nicoma said. Lance came
up and wrapped his arms around Mandy. “Speaking of babies, what
do you think we should name ours?” Mandy asked moving his hands
so they rest on her tummy. Lance looked at her caught off guard. “Are
you?” Lance asked. Mandy just smiled and nodded. Lance smiled
and kissed her on the cheek.
JC was in awe by what was going on, then he felt something at first
he thought maybe he had gotten a rock in his shoe then he remembered.
Kim watched questioningly as her boyfriend tried frantically to get
his shoe off. She was about to question his actions but before she could
he was down on one knee in front of her. He held her hand with one hand
and in the other he held out the ring. “Kim will you please marry
me?” He asked looking up into her eyes. She put her hand over
her mouth in disbelief. “Please Kim, I can’t stand the thought
of not being with you.” JC added. Kim finally smiled. “Yes.”
She said quickly, but before she could say anything else JC got up and
hugged and kissed her. He slipped the ring on her finger and then just
held her.
“Come on Katy let’s go get Elena and go home.” Justin
said dragging her to the car. “But Justin, home it kind of messy
and can’t she stay at your mom’s just a little longer.”
Katy wined. Justin stopped and held Katy close. “No, I know having
a baby is hard work and it’s not always fun, especially when she’s
fussy. But that is what being a parent is all about, putting up with
all the hard stuff so you can enjoy all the cool stuff, like knowing
you created something special.” Justin said. Katy looked at him
in awe. “I know I haven’t been so great, I like to sing
to her and hold her when she’s not crying, but when she got fussy
I would always hand her to you and you would take care of her. But that
night when you weren’t there and she got fussy. I had to take
care of her my self and it’s hard work, and I am so sorry I never
helped you out before. Elena has two parents and I forget that some
times.” Justin added.
“Wow, Justin I am impressed.” Katy said. “What can
I say I had sometime to think.” Justin explained. “We all
did.” JC added. Brandi looked at Joey and Nicoma and how happy
they were and then at Chris, who hadn’t let go of her since she
had untied him. “Chris I want to tell you something.” Brandi
said looking up at him. “What is it?” Chris asked. “It's
about...” Brandi started to say. Chris stopped her, he put his
finger up to her mouth to hush her. “If it’s about you and
Joey, I already know.” Chris said glancing at Joey. Joey just
smiled and cuddled close to Nicoma. Chris took Brandi’s hands
in his and looked her in the eyes. “It’s in the past so
let’s just forget about it. I’m more worried about our future.”
Chris said sweetly. Brandi just looked up at him in awe. “I’m
sorry if I get too busy for you some times, that’s why I want
you to come to work for me, that way I have a great excuse to spend
time with you.” Chris added.
“Let’s just go home you guys.” Kim said.
After getting settled back into things the guys made it a point to bale
out Nina. Nina was happy to finally get to meet the girls and Justin
adorable baby. She was also pleased to see JC had finally asked Kim
to marry him. Nina ended up taking the blame for everything but got
off easy by taking her so called friends down with her. They got most
of the guys money back, and every one finally got on with their lives.
It’s not important what happened after ward, what
is important is that it happened. People got married, people had babies,
but more importantly they were all happy.
