Do Your ThingBy Neko It had just started to get warm out. Mandy was standing in the shade leaning up against a post. She sipped her water. This was so unbelievable; she wandered what she was doing here any way. She could have been at home in her air-conditioned house watching TV. But no she was here getting a hellish sunburn across her shoulders. She looked around herself, a small crowd had already gathered. She noted some of the people; she had always been a people watcher. Some of these people were real winners. They were acting like little kids running around and freaking out about every little thing. Mandy laughed and took another drink. She was trying to remain unseen. Mandy was a very social person but there were people that she just did not want to come across today. Everyone has that one person whose voice can gives them an instant headache. Today was going to be a good day and Mandy wasn’t going to let any one take that away from her. She had been waiting for this day for a long time. She deserved to be here, she worked hard and but felt it was worth it. For once in her life she had done something for some one else and it made her feel proud. The show was over by now, but Mandy still waited in the shade. She was the closest to the stage so she was seen first. She smiled as the performer came around from behind the stage. “Thank you so much for coming.” Sally said giving Mandy a hug. “I wouldn’t have missed this for the world.” Mandy replied. “You’re so sweet.” Sally said. Sally took Mandy’s hand and led her around back to where her trailer was. The two of them went inside to talk. “I really, mean it Mandy. I can’t thank you enough for all the work you do on the fan club.” Sally said. “You don’t have to thank me; I enjoy working with you. Hear I brought you something.” Mandy said handing Sally a tiny box. Sally quickly opened it. Inside she found a tiny hand painted box. “The kids I baby-sit for made it for you and asked me if I would give it to you.” Mandy explained. “Oh, tell they that I said thank you.” Sally said setting it off to the side. The two of them were talking when there was a knock at the door. “Who is it?” Sally asked. The person replied quickly. Sally asked them to wait but they opened the door any way. Mandy smiled as her blonde counter part entered the tiny trailer. Sally got up and greeted her new visitor. They hugged and then sat back down to talk. Finally Mandy got up and excused herself. She apologized to Sally for having to leave so soon, but explained that her brother and mother were waiting for her. Sally hugged her again. “We’ll talk later.” Sally said. Mandy nodded and then left to find her family. Running Sally’s fan club was fun and Sally was a great performer. Once Mandy got back home she sat down at her computer and began to write a concert review for her website. Once she got done she quickly placed it on her website. She wasn’t sleepy yet so she got on the web and was looking around. She came across a Nsync website. She smiled to herself. “Now there is a group I wouldn’t mind working for.” Mandy said to her self. She looked over at her Cat who was sleeping on a stack of paper near her computer desk. The cat woke up and looked at her. “Maybe some day we can have our own fan club.” Mandy said with a smile, “I guess we’d have to find something to be famous for first.” Just then some one called her. “Hello?” Mandy asked. “Mandy it’s Sally.” Sally said from the other end of the line. She sounded extra happy about something. “Hey, Sally. What’s up?” Mandy asked. “I have some great news and I just have to tell some one. I hope I’m not bothering you.” Sally said quickly realizing what time it was. “You’re not bothering me, I was just writing my review of your show.” Mandy explained. “I hope it’s a good review.” Sally said. “Well, it was a good show, so I don’t think you have anything to worry about.” Mandy said. “That’s great, I’m glad you enjoyed it.” Sally said. “What did you want to tell me?” Mandy asked trying to bring them back to the reason she had called in the first place. “Oh, yeah. I have the best of news. In a few months I landed a gig opening for a big name group. I’m going to be touring with them all summer. This could be the chance we’ve been waiting for.” Sally explained. “Really, that’s great. Who is the big name group?” Mandy asked. “I can’t say just yet. I don’t want to get your hopes up, nor do I want to jinks myself.” Sally said. “I understand when will you make in official?” Mandy asked. “In a few days, once Tony gets things settled.” Sally said. “This is great, Sally. You’re finally going to get the fame you deserve.” Mandy said. “I couldn’t have done it with out you, thank you again for your support. I’ll find some way to make it up to you.” Sally added. “You don’t have to do that, I like what I am doing.” Mandy explained. “I know you do, any way I better go. I’ll let you know the details soon.” Sally said. “That’s great and I very happy for you, I can’t wait to hear the whole thing. Good night Sally.” Mandy said. “Night Mandy.” Sally said and then the phone went dead. “I hate it when she does that. Only tells me a little, just enough to get my attention but not enough to full my need to know more.” Mandy explained to her now the cat. She went back to work on her site and then called it a night. A few weeks later she got a call from Tony, Sally’s manager. He wanted to meet with Mandy to talk about something important. This was odd they had always just talked over the phone, but Tony insisted that they talk in person. Mandy wasn’t sure what was going on but agreed to meet with them a little later. When she arrived at their meeting place Mandy’s Fan club counter part was already there, along with her sister and father, who were seating a little ways away. Mandy joined them all at the table. Tony and Sally were both smiling. So Mandy took it that this was a good thing they were to talk about. “We have some awesome newsgirls.” Tony said. Mandy and her counter part both listened carefully. “I got a big gig, I mean this is serious.” Sally said. “Sally’s going to be opening for Nsync, on their summer tour.” Tony said. Mandy smiled while her counter part seemed none to thrilled by the fact that she would be touring with Nsync. But squealed just the same, as if to let Sally know she was happy for her. “Now, girls here is the deal, Nsync is allowing us to take only so many people with us and we both want you to come with us. You can run the fan club from the bus.” Tony explained. “Really, that’s great.” Mandy said. “We will however understand if you can’t because of work or whatever.” Sally said. “Are you kidding, I wouldn’t miss it for the world.” Mandy yelled; after all she did really like Nsync and her dead end job could always wait. They stayed there and talked some more working out anything that needed to be worked out. “Oh and one other thing girls,” Tony added just before they left, “The guys in Nsync are off limits to you. You can’t go near them and you can’t bother them. We want to appear professional to them.” “I understand Tony. We’re there to promote Sally and nothing else.” Mandy said. Tony smiled and then got in his car and left. On the way home that was all Mandy could think about. Sally was on her way to the top and Mandy had helped her get there. She called her parents as soon as she got home. They weren’t too happy with Mandy’s plan to quit her job, just so she could go run around the country with some guy group. But there was nothing they could say to stop her. She was going and that was that. Finally the time came to leave and join the tour. Mandy gathered her things and joined Tony, Sally, and Sally’s band on the tiny tour bus. It wasn’t the homiest place but it would work. Mandy’s counter part had also managed to come, but was upset because her family could not join her on the trip. But there was hardly enough room for them let alone two more people. Mandy worked hard while on tour, she even set up an online journal and filled it in every day with what had happened though out the day. And boy was there a lot to talk about. As hard as it was though she kept her word to Sally and stayed away from Nsync. For weeks while on tour Mandy wasn’t even aware that Nsync was even there, if she hadn’t seen all the young girls with T-Shirts on she may have never know. But things were going great; the Nsync fans were really taking to Sally and her music. Things couldn’t be better or so Mandy thought. It wasn’t long until Mandy’s counter part got them both into trouble. “I told you not to, but you did it any way.” Tony snapped. Mandy had been called in to listen, some how this related to her too. “I didn’t hurt anything.” Mandy’s partner in crime wined. “I told you to stay away from the Nsync Guys. We’re so pose to be professional here.” Tony explained. “I just wanted an autograph for my sister; she loves them you know.” She explained. “I don’t care. Mandy has controlled herself and I expect the same from you.” Tony said. “But...” She started to say. “No, buts that’s it. Now go get back to work and if you bother them again you’re off the tour. That goes for both of you. You’re a team.” Tony yelled. Once in the hall way Mandy turned to her. “I can’t believe you got us both in trouble.” Mandy snapped putting her hands on her hips. “You would have done it sooner or later, so why does it matter?” She asked. “It matters to me; you’re not even trying to be professional about this.” Mandy said the stormed off, she could only take so much of her in one setting. Mandy was upset, she was working so hard to make this work, almost too hard in fact. She was so mad she wasn’t paying any attention to wear she was going. She rounded a corner and ran right into something. She fell down and was surrounded by paper. She quickly realized she had ran into some one. She started to pick the papers up when a hand accidentally brushes across hers. Mandy froze when she realized who it was. “I’m so sorry.” Mandy stuttered. “It’s okay; it’s my fault. I should have been watching where I was going.” Lance explained. Mandy was in awe by him. She finally snapped herself out of it and helped him gather his papers. They both got up at about the same time. Mandy handed him the papers she had managed to pick up. “Thanks.” Lance said organizing the mass of papers in his hands. “You know. It really was my fault, I should have been more careful. I just have so much on my mind right now.” Mandy explained felling like such a dork. “I think both of us are to blame then.” Lance said. “What’s is all this stuff any way?” Mandy asked. “Business stuff.” Lance explained. “I see.” Mandy said helping him get the last of the messed together. She was about to walk away when she heard some was squeal. “I told you so, I’m telling Tony.” Mandy looked over to see her counter part standing a few feet away looking at the two of them. She smiled and darted off in the direction of Tony. “No, you got it all wrong.” Mandy yelled. She tossed Lance everything. “Sorry, I have to go.” Mandy said and then darted off after her. “Bye.” Lance called after her. Mandy chased her around yelling at her to stop. “You’re just going to get both of us in trouble; you don’t understand what happened.” Mandy explained. But she wouldn’t listen to her and just kept going until she found Tony. It took her all of five second to rat her out. And by the time Mandy got there Tony was mad. “Tony, I can explain.” Mandy said. “I don’t want to hear excuses. I said no and I meant it.” Tony yelled, he clearly had had enough of their shenanigans. Tony had every reason to be mad, but why wouldn’t he let her explain? Mandy thought to herself. “As far as I can see this isn’t going to work. At the next stop you two are going home.” Tony said. “No Tony you can’t do that. Sally needs us here.” Mandy explained. “She doesn’t need you two running around trying to hook up with some boy band member. She needed you to get serious and work.” Tony snapped. “Tony, you’re right Sally needs us to be professional so people will take her serious. But I wasn’t trying to hook up with any one and if I was I was doing a really bad job at it. I ran into him and knocked his important paper all over the place. He probably thinks I nothing but a big dork now.” Mandy explained quickly so Tony would hear it before he stormed out. Tony stopped and turned to look at her. “You ran into him?” He asked. “Yes, and I feel so bad about it.” Mandy added. “First, please forgive me, there is just so much going on right now, the last thing I need is for you two to be running around causing problems. It has to stop. I’m afraid you’re just getting in the way here. Sally and I can e-mail you with up-dates from now on.” Tony said calmly and started to walk away again. “But Tony.” Mandy wined but was stopped when she heard some one speak from behind her. “Tony is it?” Lance asked. “Yeah.” Tony said somewhat surprised. “Look I just came to apologize for running into your girl here. I wasn’t watching where I was going.” Lance explained. Mandy looked at him in awe. He had gotten rid of this paper work and was dressed normally. “It okay, the last thing we want is for the girls to get in the way.” Tony said. “Oh, they’re not in the way. In fact until today we have hardly known they were even here. I just felt bad that’s all. I didn’t hurt you did I.” Lance asked putting his hand on Mandy’s arm. “No, I’m fine thanks.” Mandy managed to get out. “I’m not sure what to do then, I guess you can stay, but if you get in the way again your out. Do you two under stand me?” Tony asked. “Yeah, We understand you completely. Thanks for giving us a second chance.” Mandy said as Tony left. Mandy glared at her counter part and then turned to Lance. “Thank you for helping me. The last thing I want to do is leave.” Mandy said. “Don’t mention it, after all it was an accident, right?” Lance said. “Yeah, it was.” Mandy said. She could not believe she was talking to Lance Bass. Boy was she going to have to put all of this in the e-diary. “Shouldn’t you be going, since your not suppose to be talking to him and all.” Mandy’s new adversary blurted out. “Shouldn’t you be going too then, miss I got to get an autograph.” Mandy asked. She just huffed and the stormed out. “I better go, I am very busy. Maybe I’ll see you around.” Lance said. He kindly shook his hand and then disappeared. Mandy smiled. Later that night she was laying in the bunk typing away on the laptop. She was totally into what she was saying, no one back home was going to believe her. Suddenly some one slowly pushed the curtain to her bunk open. It was Sally. Sally smiled and sat down on the floor next to her bunk. She propped her head up and looked at Mandy. “I’m sorry for the way Tony acted today, he feels bad about yelling at you two. But he’s just so stressed out right now. This is a big deal for us.” Sally explained. “Sally, you don’t have to explain. I understand.” Mandy said looking at her just for a moment then going back to her typing. “So how was it?” Sally asked. “How was what?” Mandy asked confused. “Meeting your idol? He’s all you used to talk about.” Sally said. “Lance? He was so sweet, you have no idea.” Mandy said sounding like one of those tiny-boppers she ran into all the time now. Sally smiled, “I’m jealous of you now; I haven’t even seen them yet.” “Come on Sally, I ran into the guy. He probably thinks I’m such a dork.” Mandy said. “That’s not what he told the hair and make-up guy.” Sally said then left quickly. Mandy jumped out and went after her, stopping her right where the bunk beds end. “So, what did he tell the hair and make-up guy?” Mandy asked. “Why are you interested?” Sally asked raising an eyebrow. “Of course.” Mandy snapped. “It’s nothing big he just asked what your name was. The hairdresser didn’t know so he asked me.” Sally explained. “What did you tell him?” Mandy asked. “I told him your name was Sue, what do you think I told him? I said Mandy, duh!” Sally said jokingly. “You better have.” Mandy said in the best mock angry tone she could come up with. Mandy could not sleep that night; she couldn’t wait until morning. Tony had come up with some things to keep them busy, so the wouldn’t get into any more trouble. Mandy understood, but they were allowed to take a break and watch Sally practice on the stage. After she was done they all sat on the stage and ate lunch. I think the show would be a little better if I danced more, but dancing just is not my thing.” Sally said. “I think the show looks great, your voice more than makes up for the lack of dancing.” Mandy explained. “Do you really thing so?” Sally asked. “Yeah, I do.” Mandy said. “Hey, you took a bunch of dance classes in High School right?” Sally asked. “Yes, I did. I love to dance and I was good at it.” Mandy explained. “Maybe you could show me just a few moves, just to liven up the show a bit.” Sally explained. “Sure, if that’s what you want.” Mandy said. After eating Mandy showed Sally some dance moves, nothing to hard just a little something. They got to joking around and Mandy proceeded to show them some of the moves she had seen the Nsync back up dancers doing, during one of their practices. Mandy had always been a fast learner and had picked them up quickly. After a while Tony came back and they were forced to get back to work. A few days later Sally approached Mandy and her counter part. Sally had a huge grin on her face. “Hey guys.” Sally said sweetly. “What’s up Sally?” Mandy asked. “I have a surprise for you.” Sally said smiling at them. “Really what is it?” Mandy asked. “Well I finally got to meet Nsync today and they wanted me to give these to you, since you had been working so hard,” Sally said holding out two front row tickets to that nights show. They quickly snatched the up. “This is the best.” Mandy said she gave Sally a hug. “Don’t thank me, thank Nsync.” Sally explained. “We can’t go near them remember.” Mandy explained. “I know but I’m sure Lance will be looking for you in the crowd tonight.” Sally said giving Mandy a little wink. “I better go. You two had better go get ready.” Sally said and then left still smiling. They both quickly darted off to get ready. The concert was great. Not only did they get to see Sally perform but the were going to get to see Nsync perform. Mandy took in everything. She liked the dancing a lot and couldn’t wait to get home so she could try some of the moves they where doing. Dancing was fun to Mandy, she likes to dance. The next day Mandy was surprised even more when Tony and Sally. “We need to talk to you.” Tony said. “What did I do now?” Mandy wined. “Nothing Girl, this is a good talk.” Sally explained. “Oh, okay. What can I do for you?” Mandy asked. “We have a huge favor to ask of you.” Tony replied. “Well not us exactly, Nsync needs your help.” Sally went on to say. “Nsync? What would they want with me?” Mandy asked shocked. “Well last night one of their back up dancers broke her leg, though she’s going to be fine, she can’t finish the tour. The guys need a replacement fast.” Tony explained. “But why me?” Mandy asked. “I told them you already knew most of the dances.” Sally replied. “Why did you tell them that?” Mandy asked. “Because it’s true, you do. I saw you the other night.” Sally said defending her actions. “But what if I mess up? I can’t do it, I’m sorry.” Mandy said. Sally whispered something in Tony’s ear. Tony smiled and left. Sally went over and sat beside Mandy on one of the big boxes. “What were you thinking?” Mandy asked softly. “I was thinking you were one of the best dancers I know, and I was thinking you would be happy to do it.” Sally said. “I would be, but I already embarrassed my self in front of Lance, what more do you want form me?” Mandy asked. “I want you to get out there and do you thing, girl. Do you remember when you told me that you wanted, more than anything in the world, to be a back up dancer for some big name group?” Sally asked. “Yeah, I remember that.” Mandy said looking at her feet. “Well, here is your chance, don’t turn your back on this. It’s like fate of something.” Sally explained. “Do you really think I can pull this off?” Mandy asked. “I know you can.” Sally said, “You have supported me for years now, now it’s my turn.” “I can try I guess.” Mandy finally said. “You’ll do fine, besides there are only 3 more shows left, it won’t kill you.” Sally added. Mandy looked up at Sally and then gave her a big hug. “Thank, Sally.” She said softly. “Thanks, for what?” Sally asked letting go. “For believing in me.” Mandy explained. “I guess you should go tell them I said yes.” Mandy added. “No, that’s okay. I told Tony to go ahead and tell them you said yes. I knew you’d come around.” Sally said with a smile. “You’re a sneaky one.” Mandy said. She was led to Nsync’s dressing room. Once inside she looked around in awe. It wasn’t like she had picture it to be, it was kind of messy and very full, they had everything some one could even think of having in there. Mandy sat and waited. After only a couple of minutes the guys joined her. They guy were all sweet and very nice. “I don’t mean to be rude, but I thought we were suppose to stay away from you guys.” Mandy said. “You were, I mean, we can’t tell you how many times some one finds away to get on the tour and then does nothing but bug us.” JC explained. “But you seemed cool.” Joey added. “Expect that one time your friend got to be a little bother some. That wasn’t cool.” Chris said looking right at Mandy with his big brown eyes. She just looked at him confused. Mandy had never heard exactly what she had done, and wasn’t sure at this point if she even wanted to know. “She’s not my friend.” Mandy cleared up quickly. “What you are doing for Sally is cool; you don’t realize just how important you are to her career.” Justin said. “I enjoy what I do.” Mandy explained. “Sally is lucky, I can tell you that for sure.” Lance said sweetly. Mandy almost blushed. She was still embarrassed about running into him. “So you’ve talked to Sally?” Mandy asked. “Yeah, we made it a point to talk to her after we heard her perform, she is very talented.” JC said. “We’re glad we picked her after all.” Chris said. Chris smiled evilly as he proceeded to drop an ice cube from his drink down the back of Justin’s shirt. Justin jumped up and did a little dance to get the ice out. Once it hit the floor Justin looked at Chris and pointed his finger at him. “You, Kirkpatrick are going to die.” Justin snapped, pretending to be mad. Then Justin proceeded to knock Chris off the back of the couch. The two of them rolled around on the floor for a while. The others just laughed and watched. Finally Chris yelled uncle and the two stopped. “I’m getting too old for this.” Chris wined as Justin helped him up. “You guys are really funny.” Mandy said, their behavior was helping her to relax. It was hard to get over the fact that they were Nsync. “So tell us, what do you do besides work for Sally?” Joey asked. “That’s it for right now, I quit my job to go on this tour.” Mandy explained. “You quit just to come?” Lance questioned. “Yeah, well I never liked that job any way. It wasn’t my dream job.” Mandy replied. “Then what is your dream job?” Justin asked. “Well, not that. That’s for sure. I don’t know what my dream job is I haven’t found it yet.” Mandy explained. The Guys seemed to understand. “We were talking to Sally and she said you would be perfect.” Lance explained. “I don’t know about all of this, I’m not as good as you guys are.” Mandy explained. “It’s okay we have a little free time in the next few days and we can go over some things with you.” Justin assured her. “Besides you would be doing us a huge favor, and saving us the time it would take to find and completely train some one.” Lance added. “We’ll pay you and give you anything out of the tour shop you want.” Joey said trying to help win her over. “Anything, can I even get it autographed?” Mandy asked. “We’d be glad to sign it.” Justin said. The guys were clearly desperate. “I’ll do it, but if I stink, you can’t make fun of me.” Mandy said putting her arm across her chest. “Super, we start training now.” JC said grabbing her arm and pulling her out the door and toward the stage. They worked with Mandy for about an hour than had to leave but left her in the care of the remaining 4 back up dancers. They were all impressed with Mandy’s skills and ability to learn quickly. They knew everything would be all right. Finally the big night came. Mandy was so scared, she could feel the butterflies in her stomach. Sally came up to her just before going out to perform her set. “Are you okay girl?” Sally asked. “yeah, there is just a lot of people out there, I’ve never perform in front of that many people before.” Mandy explained. “Well not many have.” Sally laughed. “I can’t do this, Sally.” Mandy wined. “Yes, you can. Just go out there and do your thing, they’ll love you.” Sally said patting Mandy on the back. The stagehand called to her and told her it was time for her set. Sally smiled and quickly took her place. Mandy watched Sally perform; it was different watching from back there. “Are you nervous?” Lance asked. Mandy jumped. “You scared me.” Mandy wined. “Sorry, don’t worry I was nervous my first time.” Lance said. He must have over heard Mandy talking to Sally. “I’ll tell you a little secret that helps me get through it.” Lance said softly. “What’s that?” Mandy asked. “Justin think of it this way, most of the people out there are going to be looking at Justin or JC.” Lance said then laughed. “I’m sure there will be quite a few looking at you too.” Mandy said. “Shhhhh, your not suppose to tell me that.” Lance said pretending to get up set then storm off. “Sorry.” Mandy called after him. He turned and smiled then disappeared into the dressing room, to put the last touches on his look. It seemed like forever until it was finally time to take her place. All the guys from Nsync came up to her and patted her on the back and wished her luck. She smiled took a deep breath and before she knew it, it was over and she was back stage again. Sally came running up to her and gave her a hug. “Oh my god, girl. You rocked out there.” Sally yelled. “Yeah, good work see you tomorrow.” Lance said just before security pulled him away and into his limo that was waiting out side to take him to his hotel. Sally smiled, “I think he likes you.” “Lance? Now way, can a girl get that lucky?” Mandy asked. They both laughed and then headed for their car. Mandy slept well that night, she was sure if it was the work out she had gotten on stage or the fact that she’d been up all night the night before worrying about it. But she also dreamed too that night. She hadn’t dreamed in so long and this was a good dream. She dreamed of being on stage, maybe now she had found her dream job. The next two shows went just as well. At the close of the last show Nsync had a party at a local nightclub to celebrate a good tour. Mandy, Sally and the gang were all invited. One thing is for sure the Nsync sure knew how to throw a party. Mandy was sitting at a table with Sally and Tony when the Nsync guys came over and sat down. “Hey, great show tonight.” Justin said. “Yeah, I had fun. Thanks guys, for letting me join you on stage.” Mandy said. “No thank you, you really got us out of a bind.” JC explained. “Hey, listen if you’re interested, we’re shooting a new video next month, your more than welcome to come and try out.” Lance said sliding in next to her. “Yeah, I might do that.” Mandy said. “If you ever need a recommendation, just give us a call, we’d be glad to help.” Joey added. “Your good, you should go now with this whole Dancing thing, you could make it out there.” Chris said. “Thanks, I think your right. This is just my thing.” Mandy said. “Then how about we go practice.” Lance said nodded toward the dance floor. Mandy laughed. “Can you keep up, pretty boy?” She said looking all-serious. “Watch me try.” Lance said grabbing her and pulling her away. “Do you really think she’s that good?” Sally asked the remaining guys. “She’s good, but only because she wants to be.” Justin replied. “What’s that suppose to mean?” Sally asked. “You really can be anything you WANT to be, if you try.” Justin explained. “I see, you’re pretty smart for a blond.” Sally said then smiled at him. Justin looked at her with his mouth open. “J, she got you on that one.” Chris laughed. “Oh, shut up old man.” Justin snapped. “You guys are something else.” Sally said. “That one other girl isn’t here is she?” Chris asked sounding worried. “The other fan club person?” Sally asked. “Yeah, she makes me a little uneasy that’s all.” Chris explained. “What did she do to you any way?” Tony asked. “Wouldn’t we all like to know.” Joey said. “No way, I am taking this one to the grave with me.” Chris said looking around. “Relax she’s not here, she had to go home.” Sally said. “Thank goodness.” Chris said taking a deep breath. “We’d like to talk to you about something.” JC added just as the guys were about to leave the table. “Yeah?” Sally asked. “We’re making a new album at the end of this year, would you like to do a duet with us?” JC asked. “Are you kidding? I would love to.” Sally said in disbelief. JC quickly gave her his number so they could get in touch and talk about it some more. They partied the night away and just as Mandy was about to leave Lance stopped her. “Hey Mandy.” He yelled coming up to her as she slipped her coat on. “Yeah, lance what do you want?” Mandy asked. “I wanted to give you this.” He said handing her a little piece of paper. “It’s my number incase you need a reference for your next gig, or if you just wanted to call me. Whatever.” Lance said sounding a little unsure of himself. He clearly hadn’t done this very many times. Mandy could hear some of the other guys laughing in the background. They were so mean to each other they were almost like brothers. “Thanks Lance, I’ll call you for sure.” Mandy said Lance smile then turned around a threatened to kill each and every one of the other. Then he ran off after them. “Ready to go?” Sally asked. “After this adventure, I think I’m ready for anything. Let’s go.” Mandy said laughing the whole way out. When she got back home her parents greeted her. “Did you have fun?” Her mom asked. “Yeah, I did.” Mandy said. “Good. Oh I talked to your boss yesterday and he said your job was still opened and if you called him he would give it back to you. I told him you would call him tomorrow.” Her mom explained. “You know what mom, I don’t think I will.” Mandy said with a smile. “What, then what are you going to do, you can’t just sit around here, you need a job.” Her mom explained. “I know mom, but I think I have a better job offer on the table.” Mandy explained. “A better job, are you sure?” Her mom asked a little worried. “Yeah, don’t worry, everything is going to be just fine.” Mandy said then walked off before her mom could ask another question.
